BLAMES THE JEWS

Anti-Semitism is on the rise. Has been for roughly a decade. Slowly creeping up each year. Evident in the United States and Europe, especially.

The NRA has finally met its match. In the children. The NRA aware their rising cry will be difficult to stifle. From the mouths of babes come truth. So another troublemaker must be identified. One that can be blamed for destroying American freedoms. As perceived by the NRA.

The Jews! Who else? The all time international scapegoat.

It is claimed gun rights are being destroyed by Jewish elite. The mega rich. Further, social engineering in general  by Jews will destroy other American freedoms.

The anti-Semitic trend part of La Pierre’s raving speech at CPAC this week.

Beware! Don’t buy it!

Staying with guns for a moment, there are 265 million privately owned firearms in the United States. One hundred thirty three million are owned by 3 percent of Americans. The 3 percent are referred to as super owners.

Bottom line, 3 percent of Americans own more than half the country’s guns. Averages out to 17 guns per super owner.

Another pleasant evening last night. Spent with Donna and Terri. Bear too for a part of the evening.

We were going out to dinner. Cocktails first at Donna and Terri’s.

I bought Bear another small toy to chew and chase. A soft lamb chop. He loved it!

I have not seen Bear in a week. He has grown. Appears to have doubled in size. Could it be? Only 11 weeks old.

Dinner was at La Trattoria. Bear left home alone. First time alone. Don’t know yet how he handled it.

Food and companionship outstanding. Always a good time with my lesbian wives.

I continue to observe the tourist crowd. Many, though less than previous years. I expect it will continue till season is over.

Bicyclists a never ending problem. So many on the streets. Even in the dark of night. Most without lights, of course. I cannot understand the infrequency of accidents. Don’t tell me because bicycle operators are safe drivers. Come drive our streets and find out how wrong you would be.

Trump continues to tell us things are good economically. Actually, great! I disagree. No question better. However not all Americans experiencing the benefits of a terrific economy.

Employees of American Eagle an example.

American Eagle is a subsidiary of American Airlines. American Airlines last year had a profit of $1.9 billion. Eagle and its parent American have been negotiating a new contract for almost two years to no avail.

Following are trials and tribulations some American Eagle employees claim they are suffering: Need for food stamps, other public assistance to make ends meet, purchase out of date food, borrow from retirement accounts, sell blood. Some being paid $9.48 per hour.

The white man was as bad as the Indians. Perhaps worse.

Lets begin with scalping. I am not sure who started it. However as far back as 1621, things were not as kumbaya as one might believe. Even the first Thanksgiving had the Pilgrims and Indians looking over the table at each other with animosity.

Days before, Miles Standish led a band of Pilgrims on a special quest. They wanted the head of a local Indian chief. They could not find him. However they did locate an Indian by the name of Wituwamat. They beheaded him and placed his head on a wooden spike at their encampment. Wituwamat’s head so remained for many years.

On Thanksgiving Day 1626, the colonists were after Indian Chief Metacomet. They captured him, decapitated him, quartered his body and left it to the wolves. His head was placed on a pole in Plymouth.

A few years later, 700 Pequot Indians were killed, burned alive, and beheaded. Some of the colonists used the heads as bowling balls. They bowled down the various streets of a nearby town.

Moving ahead to 1725, whites scalping Indians became a big thing. Indian scalps were worth money.

In February, a posse of New Hampshire volunteers attacked an Indian encampment. They took 10 scalps. The first significant appropriation of Indian scalps by European colonists.

The posse sold the scalps to Boston authorities who paid them 100 pounds per scalp.

Scalping and decapitation by the white man in early pre-United States days. Would you believe?

I had computer problems while writing today’s blog. My key board froze. Took a couple of hours to find the problem and fix it. In the meantime, some of you were able to receive a shortened entry together with grammatical errors and misspellings. Sorry. Hope you returned to this final version.

Enjoy your Sunday!

TENNESSEE WILLIAMS EXHIBIT

Tennessee Williams maintained his residence in Key West for thirty years. He purchased the home in 1950 on Duncan Street. 1431 Duncan. Lisa and family live on Duncan 1 1/2 blocks from Williams’ former home.

Personal friends of mine purchased the Williams’ house years ago. They magnificently maintain it.

A couple of years ago, a Tennessee Williams Exhibit was housed at 513 Truman. A short way off Duval. Behind Denny’s. An historical and educational showing.

I am ashamed to say, I have never visited the exhibit. Never got around to it. I have promised myself to correct the failure soon.

My yesterday began with a visit to my heart doctor, Dr. Mc Ivor. All is well. A slight change in my pills.

The good doctor enjoys political discussion. We spent extra time discussing Trump. So much so that his assistant Susan came in and told us to go to dinner if we wanted to talk politics. The waiting room was overflowing.

Spent the afternoon working on tonight’s podcast. Tuesday Talk with Key West Lou. Topics galore! Cannot be avoided. Trump alone could take up the whole show.

There will be Trump talk. Plus other things going on in the world. There is another world! Topics such as the middle class continues to be forgotten and the proposed bill to wipe out $1 trillion in student debt via bankruptcy.

Also, Ebola back and spreading, the cash assets of 25 percent of the American population, Ringling Brothers closes down, turtle nesting, and more.

Join me for a quick moving half hour. Revealing in many respects. Nine my time. www.blogtalkradio.com/key-west-lou.

Guaranteed, you will enjoy!

Ivanka at it again. Not sure if what has occurred is wrong. Ergo, I merely share the facts.

Ivanka was in Saudi Arabia with her father. The President made a $350 billion dollar deal with the Saudis for military equipment. The first phase $110 billion.

A good deal for the U.S. and a good deal for the Saudis.

At the same time, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates made a $100 million contribution to an Ivanka brainchild. The World Bank. Purpose to assist and support women entrepreneurs.

Ivanka does not work for or with World Bank. She is a federal employee on her father’s White House staff.

A quid pro quo here? The $100 million to World Bank a thank you to the President for the $350 billion arms deal?

Recall Donald Trump severely criticizing Hillary for Clinton Foundation contributions. During the campaign, Trump regularly excoriated Hillary for accepting donations from repressive Middle East regimes such as Saudi Arabia.

Enjoy your day!

GRAND GUESTHOUSE

Over the years, I have asked hundreds of tourists where they are staying, happy with the accommodations, etc. Rarely do I meet those owning and/or operating the hotels, motels and guest houses.

Last night at the Chart Room, I did. Mike, one of the owners of the Grand Guesthouse. A place I have heard about from many visitors. Never once a negative response. All high on the place.

Mike and his wife own and operate Grand Guesthouse. Again, met Mike last night at the Chart Room. A nice guy. Apparently taking a couple of hours off.

The Grand Guesthouse is located on the other side of  Old Town. A quiet residential area. So residential that the Grand blends in with the rest of the neighborhood. Difficult to know from the street it is a guest house. Yet it is. One with 10 rooms, a pool, parking, etc. All the amenities.

The Grand can be found in the 1100 block of Grinnell. Adults only. A ten minute walk from Duval and the Atlantic Ocean.

Prices reasonable. Accommodations beautiful.

The Chart Room was unusually busy last night. John was busy.

Two lovely ladies sitting at the opposite end of the bar from me. The Grand’s Mike in between us.

The gals from Pittsburgh. Carey and Tracey. Carey a bartender. Tracy’s job described by her as inexplicable. I left it at that.

John told me Che alive and well. His nurse Cheryl went to his apartment. Che opened the door for her. He told Cheryl he just did not feel like going out. Two months?????

Che is turning into a recluse. Bad. He is 83. I am 81 and still get out most evenings.

Three guys from London showed up. Two getting married this weekend in Key West. The Pittsburgh ladies and Mike tried to dissuade them. To no avail.

Met a contemporary. Terence. A retired police lieutenant and Superior Court Clerk from Wilmington, Delaware. Contemporaries in that he is 80 years old.

His daughter is an attorney. His son in law into a phase of software. Terence’s wife with them. The four and a granddaughter all staying at the Pier House.

Terence and his wife are the designated baby sitters. Their daughter and son in law go out evenings or sneak away part of a day. The grandparents remain with the granddaughter.

They love it!

My yesterday began with a noon manicure by Tammy.

An amazing business she and husband Rick run. People moving in and out with regularity. Chairs  constantly turning over.

A money maker! Tammy and Rick made it so.

A little grocery shopping on the way home. My cupboard always bare.

Kentucky Derby this afternoon! I have decided to watch it at Don’s Place. The festivities begin at 4. The race at 6.

On this date in 1973, Secretariat won the Kentucky Derby. His time, 1:59:40. Best time ever! Still stands!

The Kinetic Sculpture Parade at noon today on Duval. Do not miss it! You will love it! The kids will love it!

Bria Ansara involved in everything Key West. An art educator, she will be doing a pre-parade workshop for kids behind the Custom House at 10. Opening them up to the joys of working with metal.

Tomorrow night at Aqua, Bria is hosting BOY-lesque. An all male review.

Bocce continues to be a disaster. I was there thursday night when the team lost 2 of 3 games. Can’t understand the downward trend after several seasons of top notch play.

Don’s Place was beat by Not Don’s Place. The Not Don’s is Larry Smith’s team. Several years ago, Don and Larry had words over I don’t recall what. Larry changed the name of his team to Not Don’s Place to break Don’s gonads.

Enjoy your day!

PEOPLE WILL DIE

Yes, people will die. The healthcare bill approved by the House of Representatives yesterday is a moral outrage.

Those who voted for it should be required to walk around with MURDERER sewed onto their jackets/shirts. The Scarlet Letter’s Hester Prynne carried Adulterer for a much less serious offense.

Rather than write ad finitum re the many shortcomings of the bill, I set forth briefly some of the items that cause me concern. Grave concern.

  1. The bill provides a huge tax discount for the top 2 percent. to the detriment of those below them on the economic scale.
  2. At least 24 million who presently have coverage will lose it.
  3. Premiums will sky rocket at some point for most with pre-existing conditions. They will not be able to afford coverage.
  4. Fiscal conservatism does not mean people are permitted to die without care.
  5. The vote was taken without benefit of the report by the Congressional Budget Office.
  6. The bill is 1,800 pages. The members received it at 8 pm thursday. They voted around noon friday. They claim they read it. Bullshit!
  7. The Republican Party of today is not the Republican Party of Eisenhower. Nor Nixon. Conservatism has always been the by-line of Republicans. People valued above money, however. Today, the Party’s concerns have been politicized. The lives of citizens have become subservient to money.
  8. My outrage simply stated.
  9. Enjoy your day!

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON?

Trump sounds the drums of war. Bombs Syria and Afghanistan. Threatens North Korea with…..Everything is on the table!

Trump, Secretary of Defense Mathis and Press Secretary Spicer announce a carrier fleet is on its way to North Korea waters. Video is shown on TV of the USS Hornet and other ships steaming for North Korea.

A mistake big time! The Hornet fleet was 3,000 miles away and traveling in the opposite direction. On its way to the Indian Ocean for scheduled joint exercises with Australia.

Who the hell is running the shop? Who knows what is going on? If not the President and Secretary of Defense, who?

Who will be scared next when the cry to arms, to arms, the Yankees are coming, is heard?

Suppose North Korea had bombed Seoul in anticipation of the Hornet carrier fleet arriving?

Spent yesterday afternoon fine tuning last night’s podcast show. Tuesday Talk with Key West Lou. One of my better shows. Initial four segments devoted to China.

An early dinner at Roostica.

Harlem Suarez, the Key West beach bomber, was sentenced yesterday in Federal Court. Life in prison. Suarez had planned to bury a backpack nail bomb at Smathers Beach.

A proper result. Many people would have been on the beach at the time the bomb blew. Possibly even Lisa and the grandkids.

Ozitec out. MosquitoMate in.

Yesterday killing ZIKA and dengue carrying mosquitoes began. On Stock Island.

Process referred to as Wolbachia mosquitoes. The male is infected with a bacterium that will screw up their semen. When the male mates with the female mosquito, the resulting eggs do not hatch.

It is claimed this process has been utilized for years, is safe, and works.

We shall see.

Big day in American history! The American Revolution began this day in 1775. The first shots at Lexington.

I reported yesterday re the Doolittle raid on April 18, 1942. Eighty American warriors bombed Tokyo and other Japanese cities. Their 16 bombers took off from a carrier 650 miles from the Japanese coast.

Of the 80 who participated in the raid, only one remains alive. Former Lt. Richard E. Cole. He is 101 years old. Cole was Doolittle’s co-pilot.

No question China is our number 1 competitor in every regard today.

China is significantly more populous than the U.S. As with all other countries.

Fourteen percent of the world’s population speak Mandarin Chinese. Only 5.5 percent speak English.

The John Calhoun College name change at Yale University eats at me. The student body forced it on central administration. African-Americans and their supporters at Yale and elsewhere want anyone connected with slavery to no longer be honored/revered.

Four Presidents were slave owners. A reflection of wealth in their times. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Andrew Jackson.

Punish one, punish all. One example, Washington. Takes his name off Washington DC, picture off the dollar bill, and rename the Washington Bridge in New York City. As to Jefferson, take down the magnificent statue honoring him in Washington.

As to Jackson, remove all things honoring him. Jackson is Trump’s hero. I would love to see Jackson’s reaction.

Enjoy your day!

SPECTACULAR GAME

Amazing how many championship sport games get to be the best ever. Last night was not different. Though I thought it was going to be.

I was partying at Giorgio and Sharon’s home. Patriots down big time at half. A new champ was in the making.

I was tired. Opted to leave at half time.

Home and into bed. Turned on the game. score S8-10. Maybe? I did not think so. However remained awake to see the rest of the game.

A game of games! Tom Brady one of the best quarterbacks ever. It was come back time big time!

The Patriots won 34-28 in overtime. The Patriots scored 31 unanswered points.

The Patriots had been there before. They knew what had to be done. They did it. True professionals.

Stock Island has another great food place.

The French Croissant has been on Duval for more than a quarter century. It still is. It does its baking off premises, however.

French Croissant recently moved its baking operation to Stock Island. The same building Roostica is in. On the side. Where the laundromat was.

I stopped in yesterday morning to buy some pastries to bring to the party in the evening. Beautiful pastries! Outstanding in appearance! Later found them to be exceptional in taste.

They have an outside fenced in dining area. Simple. I must stop by for a sandwich and try it.

My pastries went over well at the party.

Spent the afternoon working on tomorrow night’s podcast show. Tuesday Talk with Key West Lou. Wanted to get a head start on the show this week.

I am enjoying Go Live with Key West Lou on Facebook. Fun! Join me. Only a few minutes each time. See as well as hear me. Many comments controversial. Depends where you sit on an issue.

Tough people in Key West. Whether local or tourist. Yesterday the proof. This morning’s Key West Citizen reports 200-300 people took the plunge in the Atlantic Ocean at noon. The event…..The Polar Bear Plunge. On Higgs Beach behind Salute’s.

The water temperature was 74 degrees. That’s cold! I had a pool up north. Only usable during summer months. Discovered 70 degree temp cold. Water had to be 80-82 degrees to be comfortable.

We all had pool heaters.

There is something called a Grab Your Wallet movement in the U.S. Purpose: To boycott stores that sell Trump merchandise.

Ivanka taking a beating. Nordstrom dropped her clothing line. Neiman Marcus in the process of dropping her jewelry line. Macy’s presently targeted to drop Ivanka products.

One thing that can be said for Trump is he has aroused the opposition. There is a group encouraging a national strike day to evidence its opposition to Trump. A day where no one works. The day being zeroed in on is February 17. The friday before President’s Day.

National strike days are common in Europe. Everything comes to a halt.

I recall one instance when I was in Livonia for a month with the family. Rome was 45 miles away. We took the train when we wanted to go to Rome.

The train station parking lot was always a problem. Packed.

This particular day the parking lot was empty. I could not understand. Parked the car and waited for the train. The train never came.

A woman saw us standing at the tracks. She explained. It was a national strike day to protest something. The trains were not running. No one was working.

That is how it would be here if we had a national strike day.

Enjoy your day!
