BURN BABY, BURN

I do not blame the people of Ferguson for their reaction to the indictment report. Their political leaders, from the police chief to the mayor to the prosecutor to the governor, should now be investigated to see if some sort of fix was in. My sense is that the thinking of the white fathers was that no dead black man was going to put a white police officer in jail.

Aggressive police work appears the order of the day. Just two days ago in Cleveland, a 12 year old black boy was shot to death by a cop. Look up the story on the internet. Another black dead at the hands of a white officer.

What next? People can only be tread upon so long. Then that rebellious feeling takes hold. Anger vented.

I worry poverty may be the next motivation for violence. The nation’s poor. The 99 percent. A group can only be defecated upon so long. Especially if their children are caused to suffer. 2.5 million children were homeless in 2013. This in the land of plenty.

My blog talk radio show is tonight at 9. Tuesday Talk with Key West Lou. Of course, I will have something to say about Ferguson. Not much, however. The national media has said it all. The 12 year old black in Cleveland will receive comment by me,  as well as the 2.5 million homeless children, GMOs in American foods whose identity will shock you, Russia banning GMOs completely, and more. Join me. www.blogtalkradio.com/key-west-lou.

I grocery shopped yesterday at Publix. I buy the same thing all the time. I am not an impulse shopper. Yesterday, my bill was $20 higher.

It made me question whether Publix had raised the price of food because this is a holiday week.

There was a time several years back when it was discovered that in larger cities, the chain stores were playing with the cost of groceries. Stores in ghetto/poorer areas increased prices the week welfare checks were received.

Enjoy your day!

  1. Not blaming the people of Ferguson for their reaction because they had anger to vent? Good grief!

If setting fire to pizza shops and storage facilities, destroying mobile phone stores and so forth is considered an appropriate response when faced with the results of a grand jury investigation we are in trouble.

If your sense in thinking is correct, Lou, my guess is that such conduct would merely cause the white fathers to strengthen their resolve.

It will be interesting to see what was and was not presented in connection with the grand jury.

Here is a nice article on the use-of-force law in Missouri and how it could have played a role in the proceedings for those who might be interested:

  2. Oh My Gosh. More liberalness.
The grand jury made their decision, the correct one. The facts support it.

The incident in Cleveland is a completely different issue and needs to looked upon as such. The kids gun had the orange/red indicator removed. [ Thats not an excuse, just a fact]

  3. Perhaps you could discuss on your radio program the killing of a white 20 year old in Utah by a black cop. The media has ignored it. Sharpton and the rest of the race baitors have ignored it. Happened two days after the brown shooting. His name was Dillon Taylor. He was a good kid, in the wrong place at the wrong time. He wasn’t stealing anything when he was shot. It was a mistake. The white folks didn’t riot or demand the cops lynching because they realize the cop made a mistake and didn’t view it as racially motivated. Perhaps you should balance things out if you are going to stoke the flames of Ferguson. Here’s a link to the Dillon shooting. http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/08/black-cop-killed-innocent-white-man-utah-press-silent/

  4. I ask the looters and arsonists, so what have you accomplished?

Demonstrated injustice in America to blacks? (But there was no injustice in THIS case)

No, you have simply reinforced by your lawless, irrational and violent behavior all the worst stereotypical, racist, prejudicial bias in America that you wish did not exist and claim is unfair. So violent rioting should make racial profiling go away? Make people love their fellow man regardless of race? Make policeman treat black criminals differently (more carefully) than everyone else?

How does this make black lives better or improve race relations in America?

Our legal system is among the fairest in the world.

While there are differences, the similarities to the Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman case is striking in use of deadly force against an all out assault (without weapon) and in terms of fallout. George the white Hispanic was a private citizen and politics forced a trial (and acquittal), officer Darrin Wilson (a good cop by all reports) was in the performance of his duties as LE and a trial was rightfully found to be unnecessary. In both cases, the race of the assailant/deceased was made out (and whipped up) to be a political issue, but it wasn’t a political issue, it was just a criminal issue, and resolved correctly in accord with the law.

If you launch an all out physical assault on someone (though unarmed), and esp if you are a big(er) guy, you can be shot with a firearm in lawful self defense. It’s simple really, don’t launch all out assaults on people and you won’t be shot (regardless of race, creed, or color).

Each man born to this world has only one way to get respect from his fellow man……….. earn it!

Micheal Browns stepfather is now on video stating repeatedly, ‘burn this bitch down’

Why no mention of the recent assassination of the white police officer in the line of duty in Rochester NY by a young black.

The land of plenty for the 1% perhaps but no so much for a lot of people. I agree that the economy has a lot to do with the riots and the shooting was a mere catalyst. Add in a sick culture drenched in violence in the movies, TV, music, etc, and this is what one gets.

As for the verdict, if the Feds indict the Officer than we know a fix was in. If not, then the physical evidence was incontrovertible and the Officer’s shooting a justified use of force against an individual that was not merely surrendering but actually in the process of assaulting the officer and therefore out of control and placing himself at tremendous risk.

What I find odd is how justifying acts of crime, violence and mayhem are ever justified? They are just what they are, a grand opportunity to go wild and loot and pretend that doing so has meaning. Violence is an end unto itself and looks for any convenient excuse to exist.

  6. Perhaps we have not come very far in the past 50 years. Things will only get worse until our Congrssional leaders stop wasting time on window-dressing issues, and start acting on the core problems that inflict this country.

  7. Boy Lou, looks like you hit a nerve? You’ve never experienced poverty. I have and I’d still never consider burning down businesses. I mean, who burns down their own neighborhood?
    Fools that who..

  8. Lou, I want you to improve upon your grocery shopping style. If the target product is more expensive than usual, don’t buy it. Wait till your needed products go on sale. You need to learn good shopping practices and also drop the libdem leanings and become a good conservative. ha.

  9. So Patrick asked the question to looters and arsonists, “what does this accomplish?” Well I’ll tell you. It eliminates 25+ businesses owned by local families and sole proprietors from the overall tax base in Ferguson. The destroyed police cars takes them off the streets, unavailable for future use, which will need to be replaced. Sure, they may be insured, chances are I doubt for 100% of the car’s value. So someone will have to pay to get those cars replaced. Who will that be? The same folks who destroyed them via tax increases.

Very few, if any, of those burned businesses will return. If they do want to come back, it will not be in Ferguson. Here is the lasting result: All of these antics, all the rage, burning and rioting, will do nothing but limit consumer choices, reduce incoming taxes and will most likely raise current taxes. It’s a shame they think their acts will make a positive difference, because it clearly will have the opposite effect and now people will be leaving Ferguson in large numbers. Everything these extremists do is sealing the future fate of Ferguson.

The bottom line: they’ve reduced their once viable suburb into a burned-out shell of itself which will be avoided by most. Now it’s just another blighted part of St. Louis’ North County wasteland.
