WE NEED A NEW PRESIDENT!

We need a new President! Trump keeps doing things of a questionable nature. Then most screw up. Now he wants to redesign a new fleet of aircraft carriers to more resemble those from World War II. Such a change would cost billions.

Why does he want to go backwards? Some 90 years. I don’t understand!

It also makes me question his easy going attitude about the carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. Is he being lackadaisical about the problems so he can ease into selling the American people about the need of a new type carrier. Recall every time he is going to fix something, he first spells out how bad the item is to justify his renovating it.

The 20th century was marked by American brands – McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Microsoft and Starbucks – going global. Now in the 21st century, the race to go global involves marijuana. American weed is going global. And, Europe is not ready for it.

There is a moral message to the new “Odyssey.” Odyssey and his men were not fighting the barbarians; they were the barbarians.

People are now comparing the moral values of Odyssey to present day American values which are crumbling. America is presently betraying its fundamental values. We are becoming that which we abhor.

Being 91 years of age is a constant factor in my life. Mentally and physically. We have to live with it, however.

I came across some funny quotes about getting older. I share a few with you.

“You can’t help getting older, but you don’t have to get old.”

“It’s probably agreeable that long life appeals to everyone, but the idea of getting old doesn’t appeal to anyone.”

“The older you get, the better you get. Unless you’re a banana.”

“I don’t feel old. I don’t feel anything till noon. Then it’s time for my nap.”

My favorite. The one I find most true: “I’m at an age when my back goes out more than I do.”

There was a time when forks were considered the Devil’s handiwork. Venetians in 1004 thought so.

Way back when, salt was considered currency. In days of the Romans, soldiers were paid in salt. Salt was used as a currency in the Middle Ages. The Maya of South and Central America used salt as a money substitute 2,500 years ago.

In Medieval times, beds had “value.” They were even bequeath in Wills.

Even today it is common for people in Jamaica to get “floured” on their birthdays. Friends douse each other with flour to say “Happy Birthday!”

Ketchup was sold as a medicine in 1800s America.

Wild giant pandas handstand while relieving themselves. The purpose is to spread their scent as far as possible for female pandas to smell. It is the male way to attract the female for sex.

Eating too many carrots can turn a person orange. It’s the beta carotene in the carrot. It converts to vitamin A in the small intestine which is unable to process all of it thereby turning a person orange.

I have never seen this occur.

“German Chocolate Cake” was invented in Texas.

Hurricane Lala is lashing out heavily as it approaches Hawaii.

Caucasian Catholic priests are rare in rural Italy. African pastors are filling the void.

A Manhattan synagogue attack Friday night has rattled Jewish New Yorkers. A  man screamed obscenities and struck a congregant. Recently, there was another attack where a Jewish man was stabbed as he was leaving synagogue service after prayers.

New York City police records reflect 205 hate crimes this year against Jewish people. If you think about it, inspirational blame rests on Trump, Netanyahu and the Iran War.

I am still without a car. Corey and Lisa took me grocery shopping yesterday. I was in great need of food! The refrigerator was empty.

Being Sunday, my car will not be returned fixed today. It will be bed and TV movie time all day.

Enjoy your day!
