An E. coli outbreak has hit Florida and Georgia. Linked by the FDA and CDC to a Publix sold brand of frozen blueberries which also spread to six other states. Twelve persons infected in Florida and Georgia. Eleven in Florida and one in Georgia. Involved were GreenWise Frozen Organic Blueberries.
Children under 5 and adults over 65 have the greatest vulnerability.
Publix has recalled the 10 ounce bags from their Florida stores and those in 8 other states.
The problem appears to have involved frozen GreenWise blueberries sold in stores before July 3, 2026.
The Miami Herald and Orlando Sentinel carried articles relating to the problem.
