God speaks to me…..Not me! Read on to see who.

Dana Millbank wrote an absolutely outstanding piece in yesterday’s Washington Post re the House of Representatives titled: “Fools on the Hill: The Hooligans, Saboteurs, Conspiracy Theorists and Dunces Who Burned Down the House.” The article too detailed and lengthy for me to even paraphrase here. However, my message to you is READ IT! The Washington Post carries it again today. It’s that good.

The article is the most amusing political piece you will have read in years. Will leave you laughing!

It begins with Mike Johnson, unaware he was being recorded, telling a group of House right wingers, “I’ll tell you a secret” God has “been speaking to me” about being Speaker. Johnson claimed God spoke to him “very specifically…..giving him plans and procedures.” He further claimed God told him, “We’re coming to a Red Sea moment” and that Johnson needed to be prepared to be Moses!

They’re all crazy! He who spoke, those who listened and those who believed him!

Last month Donald told Harris he wanted to debate her again. He claimed she was afraid to do so.

CNN offered to conduct a debate on October 23. Harris agreed, Trump refused. His excuse was the debate was “too late” and “people were already voting.”

Trump is a coward in refusing to debate Harris a second time. He knows she will whip his ass again.

Following up yesterday, a few more World War II stories that will not be found in history books.

Winston Churchill did the necessary to succeed during World War II. Some of his actions though strange proved successful.

Words were important to Churchill. A legend existed that the British hold on the strategic Rock of Gibraltar was secure only as long as Barbary Macaques inhabited it. Macaques were monkeys.

During World War II, the Macaques were dying off. Churchill solved the problem. He initiated a secret operation to sneak extra Macaques from North Africa onto the island to replenish the depleting stock.

Every monkey counted!

The Nazis were bombing the hell out of London. Something had to be done.

The British were and are an innovative people. They developed a rudimentary radar system capable of detecting enemy aircraft at night. This significantly improved the Royal Air Force’s effectiveness in intercepting and shooting down German bombers under the cover of darkness.

To hide such technology existed, the British lied. They launched a propaganda campaign claiming their remarkable night-time accuracy was due to the British gunners themselves. The Brits  cleverly made the Germans believe carrots had improved the eyesight of British fighter pilots. They bolstered the narrative by attributing the success of Britain’s leading night fighter ace, John “Cat’s Eyes” Cunningham, to his fondness for carrots.

During World War II, certain Russian women were aerial daredevils. They were actually members of the Soviet Air force and were known as Night Witches. A formidable part of the Russian Air Service. They helped turn the tide on the Eastern Front during nocturnal raids.

Most had piloted obsolete biplanes used to crop dust before the War. During the War, they were inducted to perform a particular job. Their responsibility was to execute precision bombings on German trenches.

Their method scary. They would cut their engines, glide over the trenches, drop their bombs, and then get out of their cockpits and restart their planes by spinning their propellors manually.

Note only the Russian ladies did it, not the men.

Now for a story hard to believe.

Nicolas Alkemade was a 21 year old Allied airman. His plane was set ablaze by a German night fighter. His parachute was destroyed by the fire. His spiraling plane was at 18,000 feet. He had a choice. Die by the fire or jump out without a parachute. Either way he would come up a loser. He opted to jump out at 18,000 feet with no parachute.

He survived!

He landed in a dense pine forest covered with a thick layer of snow. His only injury was a sprained ankle.

He was captured by the Germans who did not believe his survival tale. Not until they found the remains of his plane which verified it.

The Gestapo were so impressed they gave him a unique certificate acknowledging his unbelievable descent. 

He spent the remainder of the War a legendary figure in a prisoner of war camp.

I close with something most Americans love. Perhaps people all over the world. Peanut butter.

I have consumed peanut butter directly from the jar since my high school days. When the desire hits, grab a spoon, open the refrigerator, and enjoy anywhere from 2-4 teaspoons of it. Done several times a day. Even at this stage in my life.

My peanut butter of choice for many years has been JIFF. Supersmooth and thick. In fact, I purchased two large jars 2 days ago at Publix. It has always been a mainstay in my diet. Even without teeth, I have been able to enjoy it.

Why do I discuss peanut butter today? Came across an article on the internet this morning re the four top peanut butter brands most liked in the U.S. Guess what? You’re right! JIFF was in the top four! Not number one, however. Made no difference to me.

Number one was a peanut butter I have never heard of nor tried. Teddie All Natural Smooth Peanut Butter. I will have to try it.

Love grandson Robert! A winner. He has a head on his shoulders.

Robert is now in his junior year at Florida State. His first two years were basically the same each semester. All As and one B.

His goal in life appears to be either a sports writer or announcer. When he was at Key West High School, he was an announcer for three years. His responsibility was to chat various things on the school intercom each day. Turned him on!

His first two years at Florida State found him writing for the FSU paper. Primarily football articles. He continues doing it his third year. He already has written 20 football articles this season. A non-paying position.

Robert and I spoke yesterday on the phone. He has an additional job this year. He will be announcing all Florida State swimming and diving meets. For whatever reason, even practice rounds are announced. He is paid $13 an hour for his announcing work. He is directly on the payroll of Florida State for the announcing work.

That’s not all. Come next semester when the tennis season begins, Robert will be announcing FSU’s tennis matches. Again for Florida State and he will be getting paid $13 an hour for that work also.

My young man is doing terrific! God bless him! You may recall I have shared in the past that he was born with cancer of the liver. He had two major surgeries at Miami Children’s Hospital the first eight days of his life. Fine today, thank God!

Doctors advised his parents that Robert was limited in what sports he would be able to play. He has two major stomach scars from the surgeries and they were concerned severe sport contact could rupture them internally and he could unknowingly bleed to death. So a sport he would enjoy and could handle had to be found. It was tennis.

Robert was a pretty good tennis player in high school. He was All County three years in a row. For some inexplicable reason, he decided not to continue with tennis in college. He still plays, but only for pleasure. He decided to pursue his sport writing/announcing options. Appears he may have made the correct decision.

I came across an article on the internet yesterday that puzzled me. Concerned greenery growing on the Sahara Desert. An oasis, in effect.

My dear friends Buffalo’s Fran and Tom Dixon were recently on an Egyptian trip. Telephoned them to see what if anything they knew.

Surprisingly, they are still in Egypt. Fran answered the phone. She was on a cruise on the Nile River. She was up to date from her perspective re my inquiry. The issue had come up on the trip. 

There are areas of greenery. Large areas. A straight line where it begins/ends. The cause, the water supply feeding the greenery. Generally river water seeping underground. Also water from other sources. When there is no more water, the greenery no longer grows and becomes desert. Fran said the change was instantaneous and remarkable. A straight line.

I did a little internet digging, also. For some reason, the Earth wobbles on its axis every 21,000 years. The wobbling affects the water supply and greenery growth. I could not understand much more and stopped there.

Actual voting began yesterday in three states. Virginia, Minnesota and South Dakota.

Virginia was reported on a major basis. Probably because of the large volume of people who were voting. TV pics revealed long lines wrapping around blocks in effect in Virginia. Also photos of voting places packed inside.

Republicans were visible with get out to vote groups at polling places. It was not only Democrats who were working Virginia to get out the vote. Someone reported on TV it was expected that with the volume of early voters, Virginia will have at least half of its vote cast before Election Day.

North Carolina’s Robinson coming up BAD! Not a nice guy. Lacking in normality. He wrote along the way that “Mein Kampf is a good read.” Trump enjoyed reading Hitler’s work also. Perhaps that is why Trump supported him. Both enjoyed an unusual interest in sex. Contributing factors to their being birds of a feather?

Came across a strange statement on the internet: “I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.” Desperate? Scary? I don’t know.

World War II impacted me. I was 5-10 year old at the time. Everything was the War! It had to mark me and others in some fashion.

Yesterday was a day of discovery for me on the internet. The topic best described as facts and stories from World War II that would not be found in history books. A ton of them. I share a few with you today, more tomorrow.

Hiroshima was hit with the first atomic bomb. Effectively wiped out the city. Killed some 100,000 plus.

There was one significant survivor. Several trees. No particular type. Known in Japanese as “Hibakujumoku,” in English “A-bombed tree.”

No one knows why they survived. Just did. Today they stand as powerful symbols of endurance and hope, silently narrating the story of a city that literally rose from ashes.

The next story is hard to believe. This man was extremely lucky. God had to have been on his side.

His name Tsutomu Yamaguchi. He was in Hiroshima on business when the atomic bomb fell. He returned to his Nagasaki home and was recording his Hiroshima experience when the Nagasaki bomb went off.

He survived both atomic bombings.

One of the reasons the U.S. was successful in World War II was how quickly it invented/improvised manufacturing processes to produce an abnormal number of war machines. By 1944, production peak saw the U.S. manufacturing 2,000 planes, 500 tanks and 10 ships weekly.

Significant was the work force. The men went to war, the women remained home. The female work force did it!

Winston Churchill loved to smoke cigars and drink alcohol. He refused to do without either. World War II was not going to hinder his ability to do so. He “pulled rank” and got what he wanted.

He had a special oxygen mask designed so he could fly at high levels, smoke and wear a mask at the same time. Re drinking, when he visited Roosevelt in the U.S. during Prohibition, he brought a doctor’s prescription with him from England so he could legally consume alcohol in the U.S.

Syracuse lost to Stanford last night 26-24. I am not a happy camper!

Syracuse had no ground game. Stanford’s defense effectively shut it down. McCord did not have his usual passing agility till the middle of the second quarter. He came alive when Syracuse was two scores behind. He was himself after that. However, Stanford was a better team than most expected and did the necessary to win. The game was decided with a Stanford field goal in the last 3 seconds of the game.

Saw Dr. Ayad from Mount Sinai yesterday. He gave me the report on my ultrasound test taken last month. The three heart surgeries had left me with three blood clots. We had to know if they had resolved themselves. Pills could not be taken since the heart was involved.

Dr. Ayad said the blood clots are gone. From a vascular perspective, I am fine. There remains the aortic aneurysm however. A serious problem. Could be a very serious one. If the numbers increase to a certain point, then I am off to Miami for more surgery. In the meantime, April Gallagher will follow the aneurysm problem locally.

I am about three weeks from a full set of teeth. Then I am going out and having a steak dinner. The dinner will be a celebratory one. All my surgeries and teeth problems began with my heart attack on January 31. I will truly be a new man again!

In recent past years, it has become increasingly obvious Republicans are having a hard time finding candidates of honor and character to run under the Republican label. This may be happening on the Democratic side also, but not to such an outlandish degree.

Good people do not want to go into politics. Why put up with the demeaning bullshit involved? Respect for elected officials is a waning thing.

Which brings me to the present Lt. Governor of North Carolina Mark Robinson. Black. Presently, he is the candidate for Governor. His candidacy has been lauded. Till yesterday.

Robinson’s checkered past came to light. He has a long history of having uttered and written inflammatory and offensive remarks. He has called himself a “black Nazi.” Advertised himself on one or more pornographic forums. Seeking sex type publications. He has defended slavery. If legal today, he would own some. He has described himself as a “perv,” reported some Peeping Tom experiences, said he liked “trannying on girl porn,” advertised himself on sex magazines like Nude Black, used the name “minisoldr,” and listed his full name and email address on Ashley Madison, a site for married persons seeking affairs. 

Robinson denies it all. He stated he is not withdrawing his candidacy.

The New York Times reported Trump had been warned in 2023 that Robinson was bad news and “he should not support him.” Trump ignored the advice. Now he is stuck with the laudatory remarks he made about him.

In spite of electing Democratic governors, North Carolina has been a red state when it comes to Presidential elections. Doubt it will be that way this year.

Again to be clear, Robinson denies it all.

Oprah Winfrey did a fantastic TV show for Harris last night. Unite for America. Winfrey gathered together organizations and persons supporting or should be supporting Harris.

I caught parts of the show. Outstanding!

The national Teamsters did not endorse Harris. Nor Trump for that mater. Local Teamsters reacted immediately. Many local Teamster unions have rushed to endorse Harris.

Trump’s latest line: Jewish voters will be the blame if he loses.

The Harris/Trump race is a “Battle of the Sexes.” A much earlier one took place in the tennis world this day in 1973.

Billie Jean King defeated Bobby Riggs in straight sets 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 in the Houston Astrodome. The match was preceded by weeks of ballyhoo. Riggs was exceptionally outspoken as to how he was going to destroy Billy Jean.

She ate him for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

I suspect Harris will do the same to Trump in the Presidential race.

Sophia Loren is 90 years old today. May God continue to bless her as He has! She has been an outstanding movie actor and person her entire life. She faced life’s bumps and rode over them.

I handled physiotherapy well yesterday. Surprised me as I have been experiencing pains here, there and everywhere for a week. Today a visit with Mount Sinai’s Dr. Ayad. He comes down from Miami once a month. He will advise the results of the 3 blood clots which were left following my heart surgeries a few months ago and what if anything we are going to do with my aortic aneurysm. Getting old does have its problems.

I close with recognition of one of Key West’s finest persons: Diane Schmidt.

The Monroe County Tourist Development Council has selected long time hotelier Diane Schmidt as Chairperson to lead the volunteer board that administers tourism marketing for Key West and the Florida Keys.

A better choice could not have been made. Though we have not seen each other since 2020 and COVID’s introduction, I knew Diane well in the years prior thereto. A more honorable and expert hotelier has not existed in Key West. She managed the Westin, Margaritaville, Opal and Sunset Keys. She continues to be active in a liaison capacity with Opal and Sunset Keys. She also served for a time as President of the Chamber of Commerce.

Diane is well equipped to pull the TDC through the hard times it faces.

“King Tides” are common in the Keys. Especially, Key West. They produce extra high, high tides in the Fall. The ocean water is sucked higher than usual as the result of the alignment of the sun and moon working together gravitationally to create higher tides than normal.

We are in the time for King Tides. The first one this year was waiting for us last monday morning. The Atlantic side of Key West reflected it more than the Gulf side. Street flooding higher than normal. Note, without any rain. The Atlantic ran into portions of  Flagler and the side streets following. Caused concern if you where driving in the area. I was. Had to maneuver one street to another to avoid the flooding that was above normal. Two to three feet in some places.

The present King Tides will last through September 24. Return two different times in October. Be with us for 7 days in November.

The Fed yesterday cut the interest rate by half a point. Fifty percent. The Fed also indicated a further cut can be expected this year. The cut(s) will help reduce inflation further and will be a boost to Harris in the campaign’s homestretch.

The Teamsters Union is playing politics big time  This Presidential election season. It is neither endorsing Harris nor Trump for President.

An unusual turn of events. Though sort of expected after Teamster President Sean O’Brien spoke at the Republican National Convention. This is the first time in 30 years the Teamsters have failed to support the Democratic candidate for President.

Harris met with the Teamster hierarchy this past week. They refused to endorse her. Boiled down to they thought they had her over a barrel and she had to agree to their wants. Harris considered certain of their wants too much and refused to be taken advantage of.

Good going, Harris! Shows the toughness you have. You can’t be bought!

Trump blew it for a different reason. He would have been happy to agree to anything for Teamster support. However, he recently said he would “fire striking workers.”

Many local Teamster organizations appear to already be supporting Harris.

Israel has to stop! This wanton killing and injuring is too much. The U.SA. may not be able to continue standing behind Israel one hundred percent as it has in the past.

Israel’s retaliatory cruelty is way more than a step too far.

An interesting piece of information. Informative, yet useless. I came across the information on the internet. Which Presidnet fathered the most children? John Tyler. Fifteen children between two wives. Apparently no effective birth control in Tyler’s day.

A story involving a humorist. Told by another humorist. A third humorist Robert Benchley arrived in Venice and immediately sent a telegram to his editor: “Streets flooded, please advise.”

Yesterday was September 18. A pretty active day in history. Came across many happenings involving the day.

Permit me to share some with you.

The first I found personally interesting.

On this day in 1946, Joe Louis knocked out Tami Mauriello in the first round of a heavyweight boxing title fight.

In the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, my parents, sister and I would visit my Uncle Gus and Aunt Louise who lived in the Bronx. Uncle Gus was my mother’s brother. Uncle Gus was a barber, Aunt Louise a hairdresser. 

We often would go to Tami Mauriello’s restaurant. It was located on a street corner in the Bronx across the street from the Bronx Zoo. My Uncle and Tami were good friends. The restaurant was a large elaborate Italian one. We would go for dinner or a pizza depending on the mood. The pizza was terrific!

The restaurant was called Tami’s Corner.

Tami was many things. A heavyweight prize fighter, restauranteur and movie actor. He played a union hood named Tuillo in Marlon Brando’s On the Waterfront. Two other heavyweight boxers were in the same film. Abe Simon and “Two Ton” Tony Galento. All three had fought Joe Louis for the heavyweight title.

Anti-vaccine persons not uncommon in history. They didn’t just appear when the COVID vaccine became available.

On September 18, 1885, riots broke out in Montreal protesting against mandatory smallpox vaccinations.

Credit cards galore today! Prior to September 18, 1958, none. On that date, Bank of America mailed out 60,000 Bank Americards in Fresno, California. 

It was the first credit card. Later renamed VISA.

On September 18, 1968, “Funny Girl,” the film based on the life of Fanny Brice, premiered. It starred Barbara Streisand and Omar Sharif. A real winner!

On September 18, 1987, the movie “Fatal Attraction” was released starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close. A scary lesson bearing film. Clearly spoke out for married men to “keep it in their pants” and “don’t fool around with women.”

Great time last night. Dinner with Cheryl Keast at Antonia’s.

My friend of friends did correct me, however. I mentioned in yesterday’s blog how she left a touch of Roger at Harpoon Harry’s. My description was wrong. My apologies to Cheryl and Roger. Gum not involved. Cheryl carries Roger’s ashes in a tiny bottle of relatively clear nail polish. A portion of Roger’s ashes and the nail polish are mixed. Cheryl shakes the bottle, pours a small amount on her fingers, and rubs it on the underside of a table. 

She does this at places Roger enjoyed. Last night was her first time at Antonia’s since Roger died. He now rests on the underside of one of the tables.

Again, enjoyed dinner with my friend Crystal. She reminded me of the last time we had dinner together years ago at Antonia’s. Cheryl, Roger and me.

Graduated to the implant dentist yesterday. Dr. Mullin at Old Town Dental. The good doctor says 3-4 weeks and all will be done.

I am excited! I have not had a full mouth of teeth since January 31.

A bad “opinion piece” in yesterday’s Washington Post titled: “Should Democrats Tone Down On Their Rhetoric On Trump?”

Stupid title. It contributes to the Vance misrepresentations and lies. Trump should tone down his rhetoric not only on Harris, but also Democratic issues as well.

Pray tell, where are and what are the issues Trump is posturizing on behalf of the Republican Party?

Trump seems only interested in immigration. He talks about little else. 

Megan, one of the authors of the opinion piece, was incorrect in claiming “the hyperbolic rhetoric where the dark night of fascism is about to fall is not helpful to our politics.” She must be deaf and perhaps dumb. Trump is clear that such is where he will take our country.

I agree with Megan that Trump “is not Hitler.” He is far worse.

Springfield.

More than 30 bomb threats in less that one week. I thought one of  Vance’s primary responsibilities was to protect his community constituencies.

Vance says truth/fact checking is up to the media, not him. He is blaming the media to an extent for what is going on in Springfield.

Does not make sense to me.

Springfield a time bomb waiting to explode. I hope it does not.

What is next following the bomb threats? Violence. One form or another. It will not be good. 

Let’s hope the problem will die down. It only can if Trump and Vance slow down, even better cease, their rhetoric. Simply keep their mouths shut!

A sick law: On this day in 1850, Congress passed the Fugitive Slave Act which created a force of federal commissioners to return escaped slaves to their owners.

On this day in 1851, the first edition of The New York Times was published. The newspaper being proof that mighty oaks from little acorns grow.

I am not an economic genius. However, I know what I want and what will affect my pocketbook.

Biden has done an excellent job in cutting inflation from 9.1 percent in 1992 to 2.5 percent in August.

The Fed is expected to cut today. A 1/4 point cut is pussy footing around. The Fed should cut 1/2 point. More, too much. Less, an ineffective impact.

The Hurricane of 1935 hit the Middle Keys and killed roughly 400 persons. Mostly railroad construction workers. The hurricane was a Category 5.

One of the problems was the attempted rescue of the 400 before the hurricane hit failed. Came up “just short.” Close, but not enough. The hurricane blew the rescue train from Miami off the tracks and up, up and away.

Two years later in 1937, a plan was approved to rescue WPA workers from the Keys in case of a hurricane by using Coast Guard patrol boats to move workers to No Name Key, where they would then be taken to Key West by automobile.

Permit me a bit of humor in closing.

I read the following in Facebook yesterday. Twenty three million Americans believe chocolate milk comes from brown cows. I suspect all 23 million are MAGA Republicans.

Trump his usual self. Blame someone else if something bad befalls him or could have. Trump said “the gunman acted ‘on Biden and Harris’ rhetoric.'”

Vance picked up on what apparently is now a party line. In asserting Biden and Harris are responsible, he has placed the mark of death upon them. Especially on Harris. He has made her fair game for execution. He has in effect invited a MAGA lunatic or some other person to kill her. She is definitely a candidate for political death now.

Both men have created/mobilized illicit 007’s. Words have meaning. Go get her the thrust of recent ones. A gold plated invitation to kill her.

Vance’s recent words accelerate his August statement that Harris should “go to Hell.” His reference to purported responsibility for the 13 American dead in Afghanistan.

This is lunacy politics. Crazy. Must stop before anyone gets killed. I fear it will not. Trump and Vance have found one of the Four Horses of the Apocalypse to ride. Death.

Trump’s campaign is dying. His race to be President again is collapsing. It’s going down the tubes. No question about it. Trump knows it. That is why he is listening only to himself, not to his advisers. One exception to the last sentence. He is listening to Laura Loomer as she whispers bad negative things in his ear.

Loomer has become his “new guru.” Person he respects. He’s crazy. She’s making him crazier!

Everyone around Trump, his closest advisers and supporters, are scared of her. Very scared.

I came across a comment on the internet yesterday re Loomer: “She isn’t Trump’s Achille’s heel; she’s a whole Achille’s leg.”

We may be hearing more re Loomer as the campaign progresses.

The world gets crazier by the day.

Ryan Wesley Routh, who was arrested for waiting with a gun to shoot Trump on a golf course, wrote in a self-published book in 2023, “Ukraine’s Unwinnable War,” an urge that Iran kill Trump: “You are free to assassinate Trump.” He described Trump as a “fool” and buffoon for both his January 6 Capitol riot and the tremendous blunder of leaving the Iran nuclear deal. He also referred to Trump as “brainless.”

What’s wrong in Ohio? Another wrong move by a prominent Republican.

Bruce Zuchoswski is the Portage County Sheriff. 

He posted a “controversial” Facebook post friday. In it he pondered how things might be different should Harris be elected in November. Note Zuchowski is running for reelection.

Zuchowski suggested in the same social media post that people “write down all the addresses of people who had signs in their yards supporting Harris.” Adding “Sooo…..when the illegal human ‘Locust’ (which she supports) need places to live…..We’ll already have the addresses of their New families…..who support there arrival!”

People in Portage County were shocked. People from both parties. Zuchowski’s comment scared people.

His comment was described in a news article as “bullying” and not the type of leadership people want.

Time moves on. Too swiftly on occasion. Yesterday is today all of a sudden.

The first graders who survived Sandy Hook will vote in their first Presidential election this year.

Syracuse snuck into the AP Top 25 poll this weekend without even playing a game. Syracuse had a bye week. Nevertheless, Syracuse was ranked #24.

Syracuse plays Stanford  friday.

Dinner tonight at Antonia’s with a special lady. Cheryl Keast.

I met Cheryl and her husband Roger on my first Key West visit 30 years ago. We became immediate dear friends. They frequently visited Key West over the years. Home for them was the Chicago area. Roger sadly passed away a couple of years ago.

I have not seen Cheryl in two years. She is a sentimental person. We had lunch that visit per her request at Harpoon Harry’s. Cheryl requested a particular table. She told me it was Roger’s favorite.

Cheryl had a vial of Roger’s ashes with her. She chewed on a piece of gum, spread some ashes on the gum and attached it on the underside of the table. To this day, Roger is still there.

I look forward to this evening. Cheryl is special.

Trump is living in dangerous times. A second attempt on his life. The Secret Service was on its toes and the assailant never got off a shot at Trump. There likely will be more attempts between now and the election. Trump keeps aggravating people and another one or two will probably get sufficiently pissed off to try to do him in again.

Then there is Harris and the two VP candidates. They are in danger also. Nuts exist on both sides of the political fence.

Add on a mass shooting or two between now and the election also.

We have to get these horrific acts behind us. It will begin with a Harris victory. She will then bear the responsibility of calming the Nation down. Trump would never be able to do it.

Trump and his team are imploding. Trump is going down and he knows it. The implosion is a live one and we all have a front seat to it.

Trump’s concern is not just losing the Presidency. It is keeping himself out of jail. The man has problems!

He is listening to no one, except one person. Laura Loomer. The far right conspiracy theorist. She’s bad news for him. However, Trump is desperate and to him her whispers are a breath of fresh air.

Trump’s most recent political statement: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT.”

Doesn’t he have more important things to talk about? His statement re Swift will cost him even more votes.

A sicko! Though not Trump in this instance. He likes his women older.

Zachery Scheich was sentenced to 85 to 120 years in prison on sex charges involving high school aged children.

In 2023, at the age of 26, Scheich enrolled as a junior transfer student into a high school. He was short and looked young. He used falsified documents to gain acceptance. His false age was not discovered for 50 days. During that time, Scheich had a field day with the young girls. Sex his goal.

He sexually assaulted a dozen girls, one as young as 13. 

The length of his sentence is proper from my perspective. He has ruined a number of young lives. The Judge was on the ball. Not reluctant to go easy on the sentence. The girls violated suffered failing grades, anxiety, ridiculing shame and a deep mistrust of adults. Besides sex abuse down and dirty. Some of their problems will remain with them their entire lives.

Scheich is going to enjoy his jail time. Especially initially. His fellow inmates will abuse the hell out of him for what he did to young girls. The way it is in prisons.

Ten days ago, police cracked a cocaine trafficking organization running from the Middle to Lower Keys. Twenty two persons were arrested.

Heavy amounts of cocaine involved. The 22 could spend decades in jail.

I began the blog very late this morning. Five people have already called asking where is the blog?

A big morning for me! A dental appointment at 8:30. You are aware I have been without teeth since my heart attack in late January. My teeth were smashed when I passed out and hit the pavement face first.

I thought getting new teeth would be quick. No way! I won’t bore you with the reasons why again. Needless to say, I have now lost 65 pounds because of my inability to chew, etc. I have been on a liquid diet for months.

Two dentists involved. One for the the uppers, another for the lowers.

The uppers had to be completed first. It happened this morning! I finally got a plate. Next, my lowers. Implants. Will not take as long I have been told. The implants are already in. Just need new teeth to clamp on them.

I am waiting for the implant dental surgeon to return my call and tell him he is ready to go!

I can’t wait to have a full mouth of dentures. Can’t wait to enjoy a steak, lamb chops and anything else requiring chew capacity.

Needless to say, I am excited!

Congratulations Trump and Vance. Your lying mouths have caused more shutdowns in Springfield. Two hospitals were locked down because of bomb threats.

I raise a question re the Catholics/Evangelicals who support Trump. Do they really believe all this crap re eating cats and dogs? If so, they must see Satanism causing/contributing to the ALLEGED demonic habits of the Haitians. Such makes these “religious persons” as sick as Trump and Vance.

Wake up! The only God v. Devil battle here is what is coming out of your mouths and minds. The falsity of it all.

Heaven’s Gates may not open for you! Relish that thought for a few minutes.

The mania in this election gets weirder by the day. The “more weird” emanates from the Republican side. 

A USA Today article elaborates on the point. The article is by humor columnist Rex Huppke. I give Huppke credit that the substance of his article was written by him with tongue in cheek.

The article is a follow up to a FOX News one which was inclined to be serious. The article concerned Tim Walz.

Walz was seen drinking a vanilla milk shake through a straw. The FOX article attacked his masculinity for so doing. Huppke followed up on the FOX article with his own comments wherein he added his belief that FOX was “absolutely right” to attack Walz’s masculinity. A ho ho from Huppke’s end.

I drink chocolate shakes. In my old age and with my dental problems, chocolate smoothies. Every day. Always with a straw. Smoothies are served with a straw.

Due to my heart and age, I can no longer consume alcohol. Sad! Now, it is diet Pepsi. In a restaurant and at a bar, a glass of soda is generally served with a straw. If no straw, I request one. I have become germ conscious in my old age.

The verbiage used in ordering the milk shake is attacked. Apparently, Walz ordered a “vanilla shake,” not a “vanilla milk shake.”

What bullshit!

Is the U.S. so cracking up! I hope not.

Straw or no straw, not a campaign issue. Nor is eating cats and dogs. Losing election issues.

FOX News started this straw thing. Nothing more than FOX grasping for straws!

My heart attack in January and its subsequent surgeries and dental corrections have changed my way of life. No longer am I out evenings dining and bar hopping. Without teeth, cannot chew. Mouth sinking in. I drool. Words not precisely articulated. Such has been life for me this year. Hopefully, it will soon cease and I can get back out with people, places and things.

Not going out, forcing myself to remain an apartment recluse, has left me with little to share about Key West. The Keys Citizen sucks. Has gotten worse over the years. Provides little I can plagiarize. I have to see things first hand. 

Tomorrow a big day for me teeth wise. Hopefully my uppers will be completed. It has taken forever. Dentist could not work on repairing lower implants till upper plate finished. If all goes well tomorrow, I suspect I will be two months from an ok mouth. My ticket to going out again. When that occurs, there will be more comment by me re Key West itself.

Trump and Vance are gurgitating on a repetitive basis the best of the worst. Haitians eating cats and dogs in Springfield, Missouri. Even geese and ducks and suggesting cannibalism. 

Without stopping. Trump thinks he has the immigration fact pattern issue for the 2024 election locked down. His 2016 wall arguments are the cats and dogs of today.

The Mayor, City Manager and Police Chief of Springfield say no such activity exists. Not even one solitary case. Missouri’s Republican Governor denies it also. World renown singer and entertainer John Legend is a native of Springfield. He says no way. The Haitian community denies it.

The Haitians were invited to settle in Springfield. Springfield had lost 20,000 of its population. The Haitians were welcomed with open arms. Twelve to fifteen thousand have settled. They are in Springfield and its surrounding area via a federal program permitting them to settle there. They are hard workers. Springfield’s largest employer says he wishes he had more. They have settled in. Purchased homes. Attend churches. Their children attend local schools, are good students and cause no trouble.

This dietary lie became an issue in August with the Black Tribe. A neo-Nazi group. Its leader a former Marine, presently a tattoo artist. The group exalts Hitler as a deity. It is a white supremacist group. Interestingly, no women are permitted to be members.

Somehow a woman blogger in Canton wrote an erroneous blog about Haitians and cat eating. The blog content spread. Trump and Vance mistakenly designated Springfield the place where it occurred. The woman who originally wrote the blog at some point even denied what she wrote was true.

Along the way, Trump hooked up with Laura Loomer. He had dealt with her years before. She is back on his team. She is best known as a conspiracist. She denies 9/11 occurred the way it did. It was a creature created by the American government.

Ohio is Vance’s State. He began with the story last week. The next day or so Trump opted to use it in his debate with Harris. He sounded like a fool. An even worse one after one of the moderators corrected him and said it had not occurred. Nevertheless, Trump continued and continues to now make it a main issue of his campaign.

Trump says he will immediately deport the Haitians to Venezuela when he is elected. Why Venezuela, I do not understand. Trump also said this past week he would move to Venezuela if he lost the election. Why does he want to live with the Haitians? Has he already begun enjoying cheeseburgers made from cat and dog meat?

The debate where the cat and dog issue became magnified was tuesday. By thursday, death threats had been received by the Springfield City Hall, the County Motor Vehicle Bureau, two elementary schools and one middle school.

Children are afraid to attend school. Not because of the possible shootings. Rather because they fear being ridiculed by other children. Their parents fear a shooting, however.

Trump and Vance are not going to let this bogus issue die. They believe it is a winner for them. From my perspective, only a winner for setting up some Haitians to die. Shot by a disgruntled anti-Black.

Recall the Pittsburg synagogue in 2018 where one man shot and killed 11 Jews and wounded 6 who were attending services at the Tree of Life Synagogue. He told police after his capture that he wanted Jews to die because they were committing genocide against his people.

A similar nut could pop up in Springfield and do similar damage.

The blame for such an incident would lie solely with Trump and Vance. I would add to the two also those members of the Republican Party who cannot see the danger involved in the lies the two are uttering.

What is the superstitious source of Friday the 13th? Many. The two most popular involve Jesus Christ. One is Christ was executed on Friday the 13th. The other that the 13th guest at the Last Supper was Judas.

I believe superstitions are without basis. Some people however need them to subsist. Gives them something to worry about.

May they enjoy the mental anguish they impose upon themselves.

Donald Trump said yesterday he will not do another debate with Kamala Harris. Trump said in justification, “When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are ‘I want a rematch.'” Trump posted his statement on Truth Social, asserting he won Tuesday’s debate against Harris despite most polls showing otherwise.  

He lies. Misrepresents the truth. How does he live with himself? Harris clobbered him! She would do it again and Trump knows it. So he tries to cover his ass by bullshitting his way out. Americans know his words are “bullshit.”

Trump suggests he will flee to Venezuela if Harris wins the election. He claims the South American dictatorship will be safer than the U.S.

FOX News considers Trump’s debate performance one of the worst ever in the history of Presidential debates.

One problem Trump claims was between the moderators and Trump. The moderators challenged Trump five times for lying and Harris not once. Could it be because Trump does lie and did lie and Harris did not?

It appears Trump may have attended the 9/11 Ceremony in New York City because it is an election year. First time he ever attended a 9/11 Ceremony. 

Trump was hounded by an embarrassing “question” at the 9/11 Memorial Service: “Where were you for 20 years? I’ve been here. Where were you?”

Only 8 hours ago, Trump again asserted the baseless claim about “immigrants eating pets” in Springfield, Missouri. 

He won’t give up! No matter how false. Our Nation cannot afford this demented individual another 4 years.

Enough is enough. Yesterday, the Springfield City Hall, two elementary schools and another entity were hit with bomb threats. No threats were carried out. The Springfield Mayor said the bomb threats used “hateful language toward migrants.”

Trump hates Blacks. Simple. He also always refuses to acknowledge a lie. He is America’s “twisted tongue orator.”

Early voting began yesterday in Alabama. The first state to begin early voting.

The race is on!

The price of gas has dropped in Key West. Over the past few weeks, roughly 40 cents a gallon. May the price go lower!

Once Texas Governor, Ann Richards said, “I’ve always said in politics, your enemies can’t hurt you, but your friends will kill you.”

I did physiotherapy this morning for the first time in a week. I wanted to be sure the gout in my left foot was truly gone. I made it through my hour with no problem. Thank you, Lord.
