Actually a shame. I was taught by nuns in grammar school and high school. Brown Franciscans in grammar school and Sisters of Charity in high school. I and my fellow students were well educated. We also loved and respected the nuns.
St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica is a large facility. Perhaps the city’s largest employer. It is owned and operated by the Black Franciscans. The color indication has nothing to do with the color of a nun’s skin. It concerns the color of their robes.
I contributed much time to assisting the hospital. Gratis, of course. The hospital nuns became close friends. Sister Rose Vincent who ran the hospital and many of her staff were frequent visitors to my box at the Syracuse Carrier Dome. They loved watching the football and basketball games. Fanatic fans!

It opened in New York City in 1977. Remained open for only three years. What a place! Big time fun! Even bigger than that! I frequented Studio 54 every time I was in New York City. Would not miss it!
