Mark Mizelle e-mailed me. Mark reads this blog. He wanted to know how to find my podcast Tuesday Talk with Key West Lou without going through all the ins and outs required. Following is what I told Mark and share with you.
Everything is on my website page. Found at www.keywestlou.com. Many of you read my daily blog at that address.
There is a bar along the top of the page. One of the items is Tuesday Talk with Key West Lou. Click on it. Up comes my most recent show. All others are archived below it.
Tuesday Talk is a half hour tirade of my thoughts. Mostly political. Interesting and fast moving.
I have observed that I have two different audiences. Blog readers and podcast listeners. Few follow both. I am at this time suggesting that both be tried. I believe both will be enjoyed.
The podcast is easy to follow. Scheduled and delivered at 9 my time tuesday evenings. www.blogtalkradio.com/key-west-lou. It is available at any time following the close of show since it is archived.
The information available to me is that most of the podcast audience listen during the week following the show to the archived version at a time of their convenience.
I have been doing this blog 12 years. Fortunate to have developed a huge following world wide. Tuesday Talk is only in its third year. It has taken off! A positive sign being that I have had advertisers for a year. Including GEICO Ins. and Old Navy. I did not solicit them. They found me.
I share this information with you again in hopes that if you are only following one, you will try the other also.
Decided as part of last night’s podcast to dedicate the show. I intend to dedicate it occasionally. Not often. To someone where good reason exists from my perspective.
My first dedicated show was to Jenny from Arkansas. A 40 year old librarian. Her husband a dairy farmer. I have met Jenny twice on her visits to Key West. The last time this past week at the Chart Room.
Jenny reads the blog every day, listens to the podcast tuesday evenings at 9, and bought my book Irma and Me. I dedicated the show to her because of her enthusiasm and praise for my work. Note, Jenny does not always agree with me.
Infrequently, I will dedicate podcasts in the future. As I am so moved.
This portion of the blog is more than I intended. Ergo, I will limit it to comment re the blog and podcast.
I never know who, how and when I am going to hear from someone who reads the blog. An example is a happening a few weeks ago.
I was having trouble with Comcast. Nothing new. I don’t know why I stay with them. When there is a problem, it is next to impossible to talk to a human. Always a recorded message saying hit 1, 2 or 3.
My problem was such I needed a human. I kept screwing around with the numbers to be punched. Finally and shockingly, I was told to hang on for a person to assist me.
A polite lady. She asked where I was calling from. Told her Key West. She verified my name. Louis etc. I asked where she was. She said the Philippines. She then asked if I knew Key West Lou. I said, “I’m Key West Lou.”
She went crazy. Told me she reads the blog every day and had purchased and read Irma and Me.
I made her day. She made mine.
My apologies for boring you with personal information re the blog and podcast. They have become a part of my life.
Enjoy your day!
