I started yesterday’s blog by telling you how great the weather was. It did not last long. We had big time rain later in the day. So much the streets were flooded!

Today it looks like it is going to rain again. Dark and overcast. However it is mid afternoon and we have had nothing yet except a few sprinkles.

The overcast blocks the sun and makes walking easier. I walked extra long today. I am committed to droppinmg those last 2 pounds as soon as possible.

No luck today. I did not lose even a pound. However I am confident that sometime this week I will reach my goal of 20 pounds.

Vanity is my middle name. I have lost 3 inches in the waist. Perhaps more. Love it!

Lisa and the grandkids came to visit this morning. Destruction! But fun!

Lisa, Corey and I watched Meet the Press while they were running around. Hard to concentrate sometimes with them in the background!

Obama had a great week in the Middlel East and Europe. It is difficult now for any one to honestly question his ability to deal with foreign affairs and serving as commander in chief. True, one week does not make him a master. But judgment is the key. And Obama seems to have good judgment!

This week he will probbably dwell on economics. Very important obviouisly! Lets see what impact he has on us after he shares some of his thoughts on how we must proceed in order to eradicate ourselves from the economic hole we are in.

Gasoline is $.25 a gallon cheaper here in Key West. But still well over $4 a gallon. And groceries seem to get a little more expensive each week.

We need concerted leadership to correct our dollar problems. It took us a long time to get into the hole. We are not going to get out in a day or short time. However we need a plan to move in the correct direction as soon as possible. And then stick to that plan!

I leave you now to hand paint with my granddaughter Ally.

  1. "Good judgement"? When told he couldn't bring his entourage into the hospital in Germany, Obama chose not to visit our wounded soldiers at all! Some potential commander-in-chief!

As for his economic plan, he's already said he wants taxes to pay for all of the new things he wants to add to the budget. Why not deal with what we're already paying for, before telling us he wants more of our paychecks? Let's get rid of the "pork" & "entitlements" first!

And does the CEO of Freddie Mac really need $8 million in pay & "extras" (like paying for things for his wife!)?

They're all a bunch of liars & crooks! They'll promise everyone everything, just to get their vote. Just look at how Hillary promised upstate New York "250,000 good paying jobs"…if we voted for her! That's a contract she was more than willing to break…no quid pro quo here!

We need a viable third-party candidate, who'll tell us the truth (even if we don't want to hear it) and actually keep his/her word! The Republicans aren't much better in some respects too!

But it does seem as most voters couldn't pass a 1-question civics test: "what is meant by separation of powers?" Everyone blames the president (no matter who it is) when it's really the legislative branch (senators/congressmen) that is responsible for most of the mess we're in now! THEY are the ones who pass legislation…NOT the president!

And the Dems are so myopic…no sense in drilling in new US locations because it'd be years before it would be usable. How about thinking of future generations of Americans (children, grandchildren, etc) so they won't have to be at the mercy of OPEC! Let's just throw EVERYONE out of office this year (& next & the year after that, etc)…federal, state, county, local, school boards! And if the newly elected ones are just as bad, throw those bums out the next time. Eventually, we'll get people in office who deserve our vote!
